Elizabethtown Area Youth Football inducted (from left to right) Dakota Cook, Alex Hawkins, Trent Baker, and Davis Pyles as its 15th, 16th, 17th, and 18th member to its Hall of Fame during opening ceremonies to the 2009 season September 10, 2009. Pictured along side them is Commissioner Chris Young. These 4 young men were the first current players to ever be inducted into the EAYF Hall of Fame. They were selected for their dedication and committment in being the first players to complete every year in the EAYF from ages 5 through 12. They were also the first recipients of the Jim Bell Award.
The EAYF Hall of Fame recognizes those who have made an impact on youth football in this community. We request nominations annually and recognize inductees in a public forum. At the end of this web page, you can see and read about those who have made a difference to the youth of our community through this program.
The intent of the EAYF Hall of Fame seeks to honor those who have made a significant contribution to the overall well being of this program, which would include players, coaches, sponsors, or volunteers.
The EAYF Hall of Fame began in 1994 with the induction of Kean Jenkins and the Elizabethtown Jaycees, who were the original sponsors of youth football in Elizabethtown. The program has been run annually since then. Each year the EAYF requests from the local community nominations for consideration to the Hall of Fame.
Before the first official EAYF game of the season, inductees are introduced and their achievements noted before this organizations commission members, players, cheerleaders, and their parents. This year's first game of the EAYF season occurred on 10 September at the Elizabethtown High School stadium.The EAYF will announce when it is accepting nominations for its Hall of Fame.
